Springfield Armor Announce Dan Kunhardt As Mr. 1,000

SPRINGFIELD, MA August 12, 2009 - The Springfield Armor today announced that Dan Kunhardt, an insurance and financial advisor from Greenfield, Massachusetts, has emerged as the purchaser of the 1,000th season ticket in team history.
The proud owner of two season tickets, including the one enabling the Armor to reach a significant milestone, Kunhardt will lay claim to a prize package that includes a pair of courtside seats to a 2009-10 Armor home game, two Armor t-shirts, an autographed team basketball, a meet-and-greet with new Armor Head Coach Dee Brown, and two tickets to a home game of either the New York Knicks, New Jersey Nets or Philadelphia 76ers.
"I was really happy to hear that the NBA Development League was going to have a team here in Springfield," Kunhardt said. "I thought early on about getting tickets and came to (the team's) Arena Open House a couple months ago. When I bought the tickets and heard about the 'Countdown to 1,000' promotion going on, I thought 'I don't win things,' and I was delighted to get a call saying that I was the 1,000th season ticket holder.
"Neat for me but neater for the (Springfield Armor) that you now have over 1,000 season ticket holders and hopefully many more so we have a nice, loud arena when the games start in November."
Including Kunhardt's purchase, the Armor have surpassed the 1,000 season tickets threshold in just over four months. The Armor rank near the top of the league in season ticket sales for the 2009-10 campaign.
"We are extremely grateful for the community embrace and support we've received since launching the team at the end of March," Armor General Manager Alex Schwerin said. "In addition to providing top-notch basketball and family entertainment at each and every one of our home games, we intend to express our gratitude to all of our season ticket holders with a number of upcoming events before the Armor takes the court for the first time in November."
Along with exclusive invites to team events this fall, incentives for becoming a Springfield Armor season ticket holder include a 15-percent discount on all Armor merchandise, four complimentary ticket vouchers to share with others and an opportunity to shoot around on the court prior to pre-game warm-ups.
